The selections have been made. The live performances will soon begin. And American Idol is about to kick into high, intense gear.
But before the newly-announced finalists take the stage next week, let's consider what we've seen so far.

On Saturday, Sirius XM will launch Tiger Blood Radio, a station that will "explore the breaking news, facts, fallout and career implications" of Charlie Sheen, for 24 hours straight.
The station will run Sheen-related news non-stop [...]
If a man who rambles on about Adonis DNA and warlock tendencies can be believed, Charlie Sheen might end up back on Two and a Half Men after all.
Calling into The Chio & Shila Show yesterday, the actor opened the interview by sounding like his usual, successful self: "My super powers are blowing it up completely... I think were winning this morning."
After a bad connection forced Sheen to call back, he made it clear that he's largely in on the running joke he's created, telling the hosts:
"What did you all do in that missing ten seconds without me? Did it feel like your lives had ended?"
Getting down to business, though, Sheen was asked about the state of his sitcom and said "it feels like all parties" are nearing an understanding, concluding: "Absolutely the gig's coming back, I have absolute faith in that."
Do you want Sheen back on the show?

Take note, Kim Kardashian: Holly Madison isn't chugging gallons of Quick Trim in order to resemble a science classroom skeleton. Quite the opposite, in fact:
The former Playboy model is posing in the latest issue of Life & Style, untouched and un-photoshopped.
"I'd rather be overweight and curvy than super thin with no curves," Holly tells the magazine. "I'm proud of my body."
But what about that cellulite, Holly?
Yes, "I have cellulite," she says. "And had it even when I was at my absolute thinnest. I'm never not going to have cellulite. People need to just accept that it's there and maybe dress accordingly or use body makeup to cope with it."
As for Holly's former boyfriend-sharing pal, Kendra Wilkinson? We'll all be seeing how she does this season on Dancing with the Stars.
The Mean Girls star has been overwhelmed by notes from fans.
But she is only allowed to get 10 at a time – so she will have plenty of reading material when she is released from the women’s jail in Lynwood, California.
‘You only get 10 letters at [...]
When Bravo delayed the premiere of the fourth season of The Real Housewives of New York City from February until April, it seemed producers were concerned with early reactions to the show. However, Housewife Alex McCord tells In Touch that such rumors were "started by gossip columnists" and that the upcoming season is full of drama.
"It's not about one Greek tragedy, because I know that viewers got kind of bored with that last time," Alex told In Touch at Cat Ommanney's Inbox Full book launch party on March 3. "It's a series of explosions, one after the other."
As for the newest addition to the cast, Housewife Cindy Barshop will have a tough time replacing fan favorite Bethenny Frankel.
"She is certainly not the same as Bethenny ? neither better nor worse," she said. "Everyone brings their own thing, and she definitely brings something to the cast."
This season, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, LuAnn de Lesseps and Alex all return as members of the original cast, making the NYC Housewives the most consistent of all the spin-offs.
"We all go in deep with each other because we all have a history together now," Alex said. "We know where everybody's buttons are ? and I think that this is our best season yet!"
The network said Friday a live episode of the comedy will air Oct. 14 and will be performed twice so that both East and West Coast viewers get to see it that way.
NBC executives told the Television Critics Association that “30 Rock” executive producers Tina Fey and [...]
